Simona Anselmetti

I worked from 2002 to 2009 as a Neuropsychologist in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences of the San Raffaele Hospital, where, in addition to carrying out clinical activities in the psychiatric rehabilitation department, I was involved in scientific research in the field of neuropsychological deficits (memory difficulties, attention and concentration, etc.), I have held lessons at the Master of Psychopharmacology and I have followed numerous three-year and five-year theses.

The work in this area of specialization has continued since 2010 with the collaboration with the US company NeurocogTrials, where until 2019 I was involved in training psychologists who administer tests in research.
For several years I have been practicing yoga continuously, aware of the benefits that numerous scientific studies have now shown to derive from the practice, so much so that I can now consider yoga a form of integrative therapy with psychotherapy. I therefore trained to integrate yoga into my work as a psychotherapist, becoming a Yogaalliance RYT 500 certified Odaka Yoga teacher, Facilitator and Trainer of Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) evidence-based yoga therapy as an integrative approach to the therapy of complex PTSD (post-psychological disorder). traumatic resulting from exposure to various repeated traumas both large T and relational since childhood).

My work experience

I interned in the Psychiatry department of the San Raffaele Turro hospital, Milan, since the third year of University, and then stopped to work as a clinician and researcher in the General Psychiatry department in the area of Behavioral and Cognitive Rehabilitation of Schizophrenia and Psychosis until 2009. In 2004 I began to deal with the treatment and study of eating disorders in adolescents and adults at the Adult Eating Disorders Service of the ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo, Presidio San Paolo, Milan, where I still work today. In the clinic, in addition to holding individual therapies and group psychoeducation, I deal with clinical research, the training of students and postgraduates in psychotherapy and theses with students from different faculties.
The interest in this disorder pushed me to found, together with some colleagues, Nutrimente ETS, a non-profit association, which aims to promote prevention, awareness and training in the field of eating disorders.
Since 2007 I have been collaborating with various teams of colleagues Doctors, Neuropsychologists and Psychiatrists in a freelance activity, soon in various areas of specialization, including in English.
For four years I have been offering Trauma sensitive Yoga groups both in my studio and in collaboration with Non-Profit Associations (Nutrimente and Prometeo OdV) and in 2022 I founded a yoga studio with a Trauma Informed approach, BeSoul Yoga, together with Beatrice Morello.
I hold training courses on the integration of yoga into therapy for psychologists and yoga teachers, I am part of the Odaka training team and I supervise Italian speakers in the 300-hour TCTSY Certification Program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiments in Boston .
